Cold laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy, is a non-surgical treatment in which non-thermal light photons are applied to the body, passing through the skin layers to tissue of the affected area to treat and accelerate the healing process. The procedure helps with relief from pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms, and it improves range of movement. The Joint Care Center expands surgical staff
NAPLES, Fla. (January 25, 2018) – The Joint Care Center at Landmark has expanded its surgical staff to include several of Southwest Florida’s top orthopedic surgeons. Joining Medical Director Robert J. Zehr, MD, as hip and knee specialists are H. Kurtis Biggs, DO, and David Eichten, DO.

Foot and ankle specialists Evgeny Krynetskiy, MD; Rikhil Patel, DPM; and Chirag Patel, MD, also enjoy operating privileges at The JCC, recently established within the campus of Landmark Hospital of Southwest Florida.

LaPorte joins The Joint Care Center as Vice President
NAPLES, FLA. (September 25, 2017) − Sara LaPorte, MSN, RN, CPAN, has joined the staff of The Joint Care Center at Landmark as Vice-President of Orthopedic and Surgical Services. LaPorte moved to The Joint Care Center from her position as Director of Orthopedic Services at Landmark Hospital of Southwest Florida. Prior to her arrival at Landmark, LaPorte spent nine years with Physicians Regional Healthcare Systems, rising from staff nurse to Director of Orthopedics, Robotics, and Surgical Programs.
LaPorte received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in psychology, from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing, concurrent with her employment, from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition to her degrees, LaPorte is a Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse. She is a member of the American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses and the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses.
The Joint Care Center at Landmark appoints Medical Director
NAPLES, FLA. (August 25, 2017) − Landmark Hospitals Chairman Dr. William K. Kapp III has named Robert J. Zehr, MD, Medical Director for The Joint Care Center at Landmark. Zehr, an orthopaedic surgeon with over 25 years of surgical experience in complex joint reconstruction and rehabilitation, arrived in Naples in 1998, to help develop the Cleveland Clinic Naples. He distinguished himself as the Clinic’s Executive Director, Chief of Staff, and Head of Orthopaedic Surgery. When the clinic departed Southwest Florida, Zehr, wanting to remain in the area, opened the Zehr Center for Orthopaedics in 2007. In addition to his private practice specializing in hips and knees, Zehr co-founded Seaside Surgery Center, Southwest Florida’s only outpatient surgery center designed for total joint replacements, where he serves as CEO and Medical Director.
